Fixed feed exchange

Springfix AG - Stock feed unit EV 112 TM

INITIAL SITUATION AND PROBLEM DEFINITION

Springfix stands for modern forming and machining technology for medium and large-scale production. The company supplies the automotive industry, the building industry and the electrical industry worldwide with aluminuium an steel products such as house keys or lighting parts.

At Springfix, the existing EV 122 AM feeder from 2006 was still causing problems. Springfix reported a loss of parameters, vibrations and an inaccurate feed. At 170 strokes, the feed was failing.

No overhaul has been carried out on this feed unit in the last 15 years. However, the offer of a general overhaul was not accepted because of the temporary loss of production.

SOLUTION

Springfix chose the option of a replacement unit from stock. Through the exchange, the downtime can be reduced to a few hours. The EV 112 TM delivered was built as an exhibition model and was fully operational and immediately available.

In general, Zehnder & Sommer always keeps units in stock for display purposes and is thus able to provide customers with prompt assistance in order to guarantee their delivery promises. If planned in advance, Zehnder & Sommer normally carries out overhauls of old units within a week. To ensure the longevity of the feeding system, Zehnder & Sommer recommends concluding a service and maintenance contract with Zehnder & Sommer. Professionally maintained units have a significantly longer service life and suffer fewer breakdowns than units that are not part of a maintenance plan.

RESULT

Springfix has repeatedly expressed its satisfaction with the new feed rate. On the old Beutler 125T press, cutting speeds of over 200 strokes were again achieved. According to Springfix, the reliability, precision and ease of use speak clearly in favour of Zehnder & Sommer.
